About us

Exploring host-microbiome interactions in pregnancy and early life

Our research has one overarching question: How do human microbiomes influence growth and infection in early life? To do this, our work employs deep 'omics analyses from large observational studies and clinical trials in sub-Saharan African and the UK examining novel nutritional and antimicrobial therapies. We combine this clinical work with in vitro systems, including classic microbiology, organoids and organ-on-chip models
