Biomes podcast

Ruairi hosts and produces a podcast that explores the fascinating world of human microbiomes. Through in-depth interviews with some of the world's leading microbiome researchers, the podcast delves into topics such as the role of the gut microbiome in cancer, personalized nutrition and gene editing of human microbiomes.

Microbe Tower Defence Game

Together with colleagues in the Centre of the Cell, we developed the Microbe Tower Defence Game. This online game, aims to teach school-aged children about the threat of antimicrobial resistance through an interactive and enjoyable tower defence game where different antibacterial and antifungal medications are used to combat bacterial and fungal infections.

Ruairi makes frequent appearances on TV, radio and print discussing the science of gut health and the human microbiome. These have included appearances on The One Show (BBC One Television), Know Your S**t: Inside Our Guts (Channel 4 Television), Growing Up Live (RTÉ One Television) and others
